"Lots of people go to school for 7 years!" "Yeah, they're called doctors..."

At last, my degree has come along. This last month I finally graduated from BYU. Even though I have been going up to school at WSU, I was able to get my degree from the place where I spent most of my time, tears, and fun. I made the trip and walked in Utah. I was really fortunate to have a lot of my family there.  They were so supportive and I had a blast.
Here's Some Photos of the highly anticipated day:

My little sister is also graduating this year from good ole' MHS:

While I was in the area I was able to see my mom's cabin (she's a woman of many projects).  They looked great!  She is a busy lady.

(i put in this last photo because it is awesome of me and my mom - what a photogenic pair!)

PA School Update

Applying to PA school has been hard to be honest.  I have felt so vulnerable as I put myself out there for evaluation.  Not too mention I get so anxious in waiting for the results from each school.  The waiting is far from being over.  It may take until March to hear the final update from ISU and who knows from the other programs.
In December I flew to Boise to interview for the ISU program. The program is out of Pocatello but there is an extension campus in Meridian. Fortunately, my mom was able to drive up from Malad to meet with me and lend her support.  It was so great to have her there with me.
Every interview is different.  ISU's consisted of three 15 minute interviews with three different instructors from the program.  One of the interviews was even via teleconfrence.  That was a little tricky as the connection would cut out here and there.  It also felt odd speaking to a television.  In each of the interviews they basically asked getting-to-know-you questions.
I felt like it went pretty well, I'm just very anxious to hear back from them on the result.
Other schools still in the picture: Pacific University, Chatham University, and University of medicine and dentistry of new jersey.  I'll update when I learn more.
Aside from school interviews, my mom and I took some time to have some fun.  Here's a photo from my trip to Boise.  My mom and I went to the church where she and my dad got married.  It was the church where my grandma attended before she died.  Thanks for taking me mom, I loved seeing it.

Some bad news and some good news

Here's for the latest PA school update:

Well first the bad...
I didn't get accepted to OHSU. I was pretty heartbroken. I tried to prepare myself for it since I knew how competitive the school is, but it still hurt a little. Lucky for me, my mom was on the phone with me when I got the letter and opened it. She was so supportive and so was Mike. All is well.

Now for the good news...
I got invited to interview with Idaho State University. My interview is in December in Meridian. I'm obviously really looking forward to it and am tickled that it is for the school in my home state. If all goes well I may get that chance to live close to family again.

PA School

So I've decided to show you all what's going on with my school these days. I'm applying for Physician Assistant school and am actually really close to being done. To apply to PA school you have a general application called the CASPA application that goes to all of the schools. The next step is to complete the supplemental applications that some of the schools require. After that is the waiting to get an interview. That's where I'm at right now. It is pretty stressful/exciting. I have my preferences, but am just hoping I get accepted to at least one or two, and not get rejected by all of them. The possibility of that is the reason I feel so vulnerable posting my progress. But since the few of you who read my blog are my friends I'm counting on you not to laugh if that happens, in fact I'm counting on your prayers and lucky stars while I wait. Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you all.
So here is the list and the recent news. Every time I hear something new I'll try to post an updated list.

1)Pacific University (Oregon)- just finishing the supplemental application

2)Oregon Health and Science University - pending and ever so hoping that I get invited to this one

3)Idaho State University (either the Pocatello or Boise Campus) - pending, would love to go here to be close to the family and friends

4)University of Colorado - pending, would love to live close to BreeAnna and Clint's Family which would be great

5)Touro University California - pending, close to Mike's brother

6)Western University (Pomona California) - pending, close to Tressa

7)Loma Linda University - unnoticed, incomplete prerequisites so no-go for this university

8)Quinnipiac University (Connecticut) - pending

9)Chatham University (Pennsylvania) - pending

10)University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - pending, probably close to Meagan which would be fun

Obviously location is a big deal to me as far as being close to family and friends. I've looked at all of the schools and feel like they have programs that would be good for me. Now it is just waiting to see if they think I fit their school well.
